Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Lopez Featured In New Coach Campaign

Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Lopez Featured In New Coach Campaign

Jennifer Lopez and Megan Thee Stallion are among the members of the Coach family featured in a new Spring 2022 campaign by the global fashion house.

Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers worked in collaboration with director and photographer Tyler Mitchell on the campaign, which reimagines Coach's iconic Horse and Carriage code and first-ever house logo in a pop palette for a new generation.

Exploring the legacy of the house through a pop culture lens, "That's My Ride" playfully evokes nostalgic ride scenes in movies and music.

Lopez can be seen biking with a posse of BMX bikers, Megan Thee Stallion is battling it out on bumper cars at a seaside amusement park, and Wisdom Kaye and his TikTok super crew, including Noah Beck, are joyriding around Brooklyn.

The campaign introduces the house's Spring 2022 collection and Stuart Vevers' vision for the season of American classics subverted through the lens of now.

In addition to the Horse and Carriage collection, it spotlights the house's Field Tote and Hitch Backpack and will also introduce a reimagination of Coach's Signature, launching in February with the next chapter of the campaign.

Captured in cities around the world, the campaign was also created in collaboration with new ambassadors for the house Dean Fujioka and Shawn Dou, TikTok star Parker Kit Hill and comedian Elsa Majimbo.

Cardi B Wins $1.25 Million In Defamation Lawsuit Against YouTuber

Cardi B Wins $1.25 Million In Defamation Lawsuit Against YouTuber

Cardi B has been awarded $1.25 million in damages after the rapper won a defamation lawsuit against celebrity blogger Latasha Kebe.

The jurors also awarded Cardi the expenses and attorneys fees she requested, which will take total damages to up to $4 million.

"After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness," Cardi said in a statement.

"During this trial, all of you have learned about the darkest time in my life. That moment in time was fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online," she added. "I thought I would never be heard or vindicated and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable."

The "Bodak Yellow" rapper had sued Kebe for spreading "false" rumors about Cardi having herpes and HPV in 2018 and early 2019. The blogger had also claimed that Cardi worked as a prostitute, used cocaine, and cheated on her husband Offset.

Meanwhile, Kebe's lawyer Sadeer Sabbak said in a statement, "We disagree with the verdict, and we will be filing an appeal."

Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation Commits $15 Million To Climate Justice

Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation Commits $15 Million To Climate Justice

Rihanna's nonprofit organization The Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) has committed $15 million to the climate justice movement in the U.S. and Caribbean.

CLF is offering this round of funding in partnership with #StartSmall, Jack Dorsey's philanthropic initiative.

Through CLF's justice pillar, the foundation supports organizations on the frontlines fighting for new, equitable systems and policy change.

These grants are focused on and led by women, youth, Black, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+ and people of color to accelerate climate justice for those at greatest risk.

"At the Clara Lionel Foundation, much of the work is rooted in the understanding that climate disasters, which are growing in frequency and intensity, do not impact all communities equally, with communities of color and island nations facing the brunt of climate change. This is why CLF prioritizes both climate resilience and climate justice work across the U.S. and Caribbean," said Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty, Founder of the Clara Lionel Foundation.

"CLF believes strongly that funders must build partnerships with organizations and acknowledge their deep understanding of what is necessary to achieve climate justice in their own communities," said Justine Lucas, Executive Director of the Clara Lionel Foundation.

The Clara Lionel Foundation was founded in 2012 by the Barbadian music superstar in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. CLF supports and funds climate resilience and justice initiatives in the Caribbean and the United States.

"While this groundbreaking art exhibit will be on view at LACMA only for a limited time, we thought launching a series of limited-edition vinyl to honor both our recording artists and the extraordinary visual artists who contributed pieces to this effort, would be a great way for this celebration to live on for years, and at the same time was a cool way to invite music fans into the Interscope's 30th celebration," said Steve Berman, vice chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M.

Berman added, "NTWRK, who specializes in highly curated cultural artifacts from art and music, are a perfect retail partner as we celebrate the legacy of all of the artists who have made Interscope Records a success for the past 30 years. "We're honored to work with Interscope to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the iconic record label alongside some of the most culturally significant musicians and artists on this amazing project that raises money for a great cause helping support Jimmy and Dre's high school," said NTWRK CEO Aaron Levant.

Chris Brown, Drake Respond To 'No Guidance' Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Chris Brown, Drake Respond To 'No Guidance' Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Chris Brown and Drake's lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss a copyright infringement lawsuit brought against the pair, which alleges that they ripped off a 2016 song called "I Love Your Dress" for their 2019 hit "No Guidance."

Last year, Brandon Cooper, also known by his stage name Mr. Cooper, and Timothy Valentine, aka Drum'n Skillz, filed a lawsuit against Brown and Drake claiming that "No Guidance" was a copy of their work on "I Love Your Dress."

The lawsuit had claimed that an analysis of the beat, lyrics, hook and rhythmic structure demonstrates that "No Guidance" was copied or, at the very least, principally derived from "I Love Your Dress."

Specifically, they claimed their track has the lyrics "She got it; she got it" repeated 16 times, while CB's and Drake's has "You got it, girl; you got it" at least 11 times.

However, the attorney representing Drake and Brown, James Sammataro, rejected the allegations, saying the phrase is too prevalent to be within the realm of copyright law.

"Plaintiffs' suit is premised upon the alleged similarity [to a] wholly generic lyrical phrase," Sammataro wrote. "No one, including plaintiffs, can own or monopolize the non-copyrightable phrase 'you got it,' and it should come as no surprise that this phrase appears in countless other works."

"The Court can hear for itself that the total concept and feel of the songs is vastly different," Sammataro added. "Plaintiffs' song is a slow, R&B love ballad about the writer's wife featuring one vocalist and relatively few lyrics. In sharp contrast, 'No Guidance' is a faster, longer, and sexually explicit rap and R&B song about a new romantic interest."
