Drake has broke his silence on the Astroworld festival tragedy, in which eight people were killed and dozens of others were injured.
In a statement post on Instagram on Tuesday, the superstar said he is heart-broken by the incident.
“I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy. I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself. My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering,” he wrote.
Drake promised to continue to pray for all of the victims and that he will be of service in any way he can.
Drake joined Travis Scott on stage as a surprise performer during Friday’s music concert in the Texas city of Houston.
Both the rappers have been named as co-defendants in the first law suit filed after the tragic incident.
One of the attendees of the concert, who was injured in the stampede, is the complainant.
The concertgoer – Manuel Souza – has accused Scott and Drake of inciting the crowd and has sought $1 million in damages.
Houston Police are investigating the tragic incident.
