My Experience at J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival

My Experience at J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival

Dude… if you’re an artist, DJ or an entertainer of ANY kind there is NO WAY that you didn’t leave J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival uninspired.

Let me start from the top… the traffic.. and the walk from the parking garage to Dorthea Dix Park where the festival was located was R O U G H!!! Me & my bro Juwols took the almost 2 mile hike to get to the park then had to wait in line to redeem our tickets for wristbands… that was an hour.. THEN we had to go wait in the security line for about another 30 min to get in. Mind you, there was 10’s of THOUSAND’S of people in attendance so it really wasn’t THAT bad if you think about it…lol. So.. after we get in we wandered around aimlessly to see what we could see… Ja Rule & Ashanti we’re performing on the ‘RISE’ stage at the back of the park… but we were STARVING so we went to grab a cheesesteak & lemonade from one of the many food vendors in attendance. After that we walked over to the ‘SHINE’ stage to get ready for Dreamville artist J.I.D. to take the stage. Seeing all those people go crazy to the words he wrote down in his notebook was just insane! After JID’s set we went over to the merch tent and Juwols copped himself a Wiz Khalifa hoody. I’m a cheapskate and there’s absolutely NOOOOO way i can see myself paying $75 for a t-shirt that i’m prob gonna spill ketchup or something on in a matter of days. Hard pass…lol. We could hear the sounds of Kehlani blessing the crowd with her beautiful voice but there were WAY too many people over there to go enjoy her set so we walked back over to the SHINE stage to get ready for Moneybagg Yo’s performance. Shout out to my man DJ Big Tiny! I had no idea he was Bagg’s DJ now but to see him rock that HUGE crowd was definitely enough motivation for me to work my ass off to be on that stage next year! Overall it was a surreal experience and a real eye opener for me. Standing in that crowd made me realize I’m not meant to be standing IN crowds.. but in FRONT of them… and with the support system I have matched with my ambition & my hustle… It’s just a matter of time.

I can’t post the videos I got from the Dreamville Festival up here but feel free to go check ’em out on my Instagram page! @ImDannyOcean *NSFW*
