Today I had the pleasure of visiting Religious Community Services out here in my hometown of New Bern. I was able to do some volunteer work with some really cool people like Robert, Barb & Bridgette (I hope I spelled that right!). They had me separating canned goods & other donations. It was a lot of heavy lifting & tedious work involved but I really couldn’t have been happier to do it. I haven’t been able to get into the Christmas spirit at all this year but this helped A LOT. I encourage you guys to take a little of your free time & give back to your community. They have a LOT of work to do in there and not a lot of people willing to come help. An hour or 2 from time to time won’t kill you.
Lastly, after Bridgette found a can from 2010 that was donated I was told to relay the message, STOP DONATING OUT OF DATE FOOD!!! She said if you don’t think it’s safe to eat, you shouldn’t think someone else would just because they’re not doing as good as you are right now. (I totally agree!)
